Rana Translation is the project of two independent professional translators who have in common a passion for their profession and an understanding of translation as a privileged communication tool.
A Belgian-Haitian translator, Marie-Lou's work languages are French, Dutch, English, and Spanish. A graduate of the University of Liège in Romance Languages and Literatures and in Germanic translation, Marie-Lou majored in Translation (primary subjects: economics and international relations) at the University of Salamanca, then in Dutch at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
Also trained in International Business and Project Management, involved in various joint and sustainable development initiatives, Marie-Lou is especially interested in the subjects of international relations, economics, social entrepreneurship, ecology, and sociolinguistics.
With a degree in the Literature and Society of Modern Spain from the University of Abidjan, and in the Translation of specialized texts from the Complutense University of Madrid as well as the University of Salamanca, Guilhem is German and originally from Côte d’Ivoire. Her work languages are French, Spanish and German. She also has a degree in business management, thanks to which she has been able to acquire professional experience in various economic sectors.
In her work, Guilhem is particularly interested in the cultural basis of linguistic differences and characteristics, as well as in the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), in which she specializes.
